From October 19 until November 11, on selected days and times, around 30 old houses at Hida Folk Village will be illuminated. Hida Folk Village (called “Hida no Sato”) is an open air museum with over 30 traditional buildings, including gassho-style houses (thatched roofs), which were relocated from areas around Takayama and reconstructed and preserved at this site in an effort to recreate the lives of the local people. Demonstrations of various traditional craftworks are also conducted, such as Hida quilting, straw crafts, wood carving, weaving and ceramics making.

This is a perfect time to enjoy the vivid autumn colors and see the area. This area has something to offer visitors throughout the seasons.
